The success or downfall of any business depends on the marketing tool/platform you choose. As marketing is the key to profit, selecting the ideal forum for your business is crucial.
Two of the most popular platforms on the market as of now are Keap and ActiveCampaign. Keap was also known as Infusionsoft earlier. It recently got its new name. Both of these platforms are excellent in their features and services.
They have great CRM and email marketing tools. However, choosing one from them could get a little challenging. Therefore it is better to go through a quick and honest comparison of the two platforms.
In this write-up, I will be talking about the features that Keap and ActiveCampaign possess. Through it, you can get a picture of what exactly is best for your business.

Brief History
It is essential to know a little history about the platforms before jumping into the comparisons. Keap / Infusionsoft is a CRM tool mainly designed for small businesses. It focuses primarily on sales, marketing, automations, lead scoring, etc.
On the other hand, you have ActiveCampaign, which is designed for all sorts of businesses. It is a CRM as well as an email marketing platform. A few distinctions between both platforms are that ActiveCampaign offers specific packages for specific companies.
Despite the fact that Keap (Infusionsoft) is mostly targeted at small businesses, it has a lot of great features and offers. So, let’s get started! The comparisons below will help you understand which of the two suits your needs the best.
Automations and Marketing – Keap (Infusionsoft) vs. ActiveCampaign
Keap (Infusionsoft) has a wide variety of marketing tools that you can access. A few of the most common ones consist of landing pages, customizable forms, marketing campaigns, and so on. Through automated emails, you get to market your business in a better way without even putting much effort into it.
With Keap, you get to keep track of the profit and losses of your business. It keeps track of lead scoring, payment automation, sales pipeline management, etc. There is also a sales automation feature available. The CRM tools let you manage the subscribers as well as the sales simultaneously.
ActiveCampaign offers you workflow automations, email marketing tools, site tracking, CRM features, etc. You can set automation goals/triggers that let you reach out to customers at the right time through the automation process.
Now, ActiveCampaign also has a Gmail extension for the app and the chrome users. It also offers you SMS automations with which you get to create a better bond between you and your customers.
Their mobile app lets you manage your contacts, assign tasks, track activities, create deals, and much more. Based on the package you select, you also get special automation features. For instance, the Ecommerce package includes segmentation, marketing CRM, advanced reporting, etc.
In terms of automation and marketing, there isn’t one winner as such. The only aspect here that would make a difference is that with ActiveCampaign, you get an extra feature of SMS automation and the mobile app.
However, if you’re in a newly started business, your main motto would be to reach out to your existing customers and market your business well. Therefore, you could opt for Keap (Infusionsoft).
Email Designer – Keap (Infusionsoft) vs. ActiveCampaign
Keap (Infusionsoft) has a library of pre-designed email templates. You get a wide variety of options to choose from that make your work quicker and smooth. It also has a drag & drop editor to edit the pre-existing templates, or you can create your own designs.
If you wish to build your landing pages, you could do so as well with ease. There are also a bunch of beautiful landing page templates available. You only have to edit them a little, and they are all set.
ActiveCampaign falls into a few platforms loaded with pre-existing functional, responsive landing pages and email templates. You are free to customize and build your email template as well.
It is also equipped with the predictive content tool, which lessens your work and provides you with the best content. The email templates offered by ActiveCampaign are both mobile as well as computer friendly.
Customer Support – Keap (Infusionsoft) vs. ActiveCampaign
The one aspect most needed in any online platform is customer support. Not all people are IT professionals and therefore having 24/7 customer support is a must. Keap (Infusionsoft) offers you live chat, email support, and even a place to post your queries.
The customer support of Keap (Infusionsoft) is quick in responding and is available 24/7. ActiveCampaign also offers excellent customer support through chat, phone, email, etc. You also get one-on-one training or webinars if required.
However, this support entirely depends on the plan you choose. For instance, if you opt for one of the minor plans, such as the Lite plan, you will not get access to phone support. Therefore, the support is excellent but not meant for all.
In this case, I would advise you to opt for Keap (Infusionsoft) unless you can purchase one of the high-end plans offered by ActiveCampaign.
Pricing – Keap (Infusionsoft) vs. ActiveCampaign
Keap (Infusionsoft) offers you three plans in all. Firstly, you have the Infusionsoft plan, which begins at $199 for a month. It comes with a single-user license that includes 500+ contacts. The other two plans available are the Keap Pro and Keap Grow plans, which start at $499 and $99, respectively.
As mentioned earlier, Keap (Infusionsoft)is mainly for small businesses and therefore doesn’t costs much. You also get a free 14-day trial that allows you to experience all its features before deciding.
ActiveCampaign offers four different plans based on the type of business you own. The first plan, i.e., the Lite plan, begins at just $9 for a month with 500 contacts. The features you get access to in this plan are minimum as it is meant for newly started companies or small businesses.
The Plus plan and the Professional plan start at $49 and $129, respectively. You get access to varied special features in these plans, such as email marketing campaigns, customer support, etc.
Lastly, you have the Enterprise plan that starts at $229 per month. It comprises all the tools and features that ActiveCampaign has to offer. Most often, large businesses and companies opt for this plan as it provides ultimate support and security.
ActiveCampaign also has a 14-day trial. The only drawback with both platforms is that none of them offer a free plan.
Conclusion
I hope the write-up helped you in some way or the other to make your decision. All the best for your business plan ahead. Good luck. You can also check our article on ActiveCampaign vs Hubspot.
